Winter Term 2012

Living Out Your Faith

Wednesdays, January 18 – February 22 (6 weeks), 7:00 – 8:30 pm
Level: all
Instructor: Paul Zilmer

"Without faith it is impossible to please God." (Hebrews 11:6) But Bible faith is not just in the head – it shows up in the way we live. A living faith, what the Bible calls “faithfulness”, transforms the believer’s whole life. This will be an interactive class, including group exercises exploring the abundant Bible teaching about how to face life’s choices. God leaves us in no doubt about what He wants from us – ranging from basic honesty, to forgiving rather than retaliating, to being ready to lay down our lives for the faith.

"Introducing..."

Thursdays, January 19 – March 8 (8 weeks), 7:00 – 8:30 pm
Level: basic to intermediate
Instructor: Norman Fadelle

Another installment of one of our most popular classes! Looking for a better overall understanding of the individual books of Scripture — who wrote them, to whom, when, and for what purpose? Then this class is for you! Students who sign up for this class will decide which books we explore! We will explore the who, what, where, & why for the books chosen, as well as digging out a few “gems” from each of them.

The Kingdom of God – Past, Present, Future

Wednesdays, February 29 – March 7 (2 weeks), 7:00 – 8:30 pm
Level: intermediate
Instructor: Paul Zilmer

The Bible tells us the “kingdom of God” is a future reality, and the Christian hope. It also speaks of the kingdom in the present tense, and says it existed long ago! Jesus began his ministry exactly as John the Baptist did, preaching, “The kingdom of God is at hand”. In fact, Jesus said, “I must preach the good news of the kingdom of God…for I was sent for this purpose.” (Luke 4:43) What was this kingdom? What is it, now? What will it be? This message is clearly central to the Lord’s teaching, therefore critically important for us to understand!
